About communities, utopias, and visionaries. In search of alternative concepts of life, I traveled to the ecovillages of Tamera in Portugal and @suderbyn on Gotland. It was the beginning of a long-term documentary project that I began before the pandemic, but then had to pause and will continue at some point.
More and more people are questioning the current social order, the ecological and economic exploitation, the capitalist system, and monogamous relationship structures. Some seek new paths, alone or together, that connect more and share resources more fairly. PROJECT PARADISE tells of diverse ways of living, utopias, and visionaries who work toward a future without envy, destruction, or war. They dare to break with old structures and develop new ways of thinking and acting. They believe in the goodness of people and that their way of life can sustainably bring peace to the world. They explore, shape, and define new social forms, consider how to live more harmoniously with nature without harming it, and seek to remove coercion and fear from love and friendship relationships so that people can be honest with each other.
